I see where your coming from

Lol I just realized I wrote loads forgive me if I sound rambling.
It'll make more sense to read from bottom to top.
-
Now this next part is going to make me sound big headed and arrogant but I'ma say it.
I also know a couple people who went to Greenwich and these are like Umm...less hard working, very averaged, not to ambitious or planning, slow?...y'know sort take life where it flows sort of people (I'd be lying if I said I did get on with them well in College because of their enthusiasm and charisma) Anyway it'll be an absolute travesty if I ever see them again.
I don't doubt Greenwich has world beaters neither, there will always be smart people at every uni but it's massively important if I could get on with the people.
I do question whether it was the correct choice for me to apply there.

I do see why you might think if the course looks hard then it'll be harder to get a good grade if you had a 1st or 2:1 in mind but I think all the positives of the institution outweighs it all.
I do know people who went to Cambridge and managed a 2:2 this is a person who achieved numerous A* and A's in their academia, private schooled, 600/600 in Further Maths etc etc .... that might not be ideal for you.
-

So you sound pretty certain you want to do a Masters after, why don't you want to go to Herts is it because you think the course will be to demanding- to difficult to get a 1st or 2:1 ?
I don't doubt City's courses will be difficult it's generally more demanding than Greenwich but I will like the benefit of City's course, it's lecturers and facilities as I've gone to open days and be able to have a full tour of the school. With that in mind they also showed us a breakdown of school leavers and the degree classification, over 2/3 got a 2:1 in their degree and the dropout rate is low. I really liked the school after and if I wasn't able to go there I'd be massively gutted.
-
Alright I think you have a very good point and I take note of that. It's the same with a couple of my teachers to they went to Oxford, some really top uni's in the country and in the end they went for any job they can get their hands on to get some experience, demonstrate their skills They've now left my school to work as IBers, IT consultants etc so I know what you mean for them it's just a short term thing, they never wanted to stay teaching for that long maybe cos the wages to low for teachers anyway.
-
I hope it's true as well I know if I get into City there will be amazing opportunities in London for me but I always feel like someone who went to the LSE, Imperial, UCL will always get the upper hand and in this economic climate they will be first getting the job
How sure are you you'll be doing a Masters after you graduated, life can change - plans can change. You might not want to do it anymore 3 years from now?
-
You know whats funny you posted the last message on your all wall I only saw it when I came on here by accident
Anyway what do you mean it's to good to be true D: haha I don't understand.
As far as I know it's ranked better than Greenwich by a long way
I'm sure if you are determined and hardworking you'll be able to get into a good uni to do a Master I'm just saying statistically you'd have a better chance from Herts I think.
-
No not the university the course itself was disappointing, it was to good to be true and i don't want to put myself on a course i wont do well in and get the best possible grade.
Not really i know someone who went to Greenwich then went to kings. Its all to do with how determined you are. I wouldn't go the Universities you've listed, but we shall see.
-
I don't get it O_O it looks to good so you don't want to go? Are you afraid the course will be to demanding...
I think it's fine if you decide to go Greenwich do the 3 years and do a Masters in a better uni elsewhere but where do you plan to go after. If you want to go to a Top university e.g. Imperial, UCL, LSE it will be very difficult!
