Pretty cool we're both in Brighton! Although, I better say now that I rejected my ESPS offer *most difficult decision EVER*! But massive congrats on getting an offer too, they're pretty hard to get so go us!! Yeah, I basically couldn't deal with living in London for the three UCL based years so had to decide between what was probably the best course I'd ever seen and actually enjoying life outside the lecture theatre -- that's what made up my mind I guess!! But it was possibly the saddest day ever when I rejected it but I guess everything's for a reason!
So where abouts are you in Btownn??

Hey! so I commented on your thread. I have been thinking about which uni to choose a lot and I think i am going to firm UCL because well its truly famous and its very international which is something I really care about. And as you said it will open doors to internships and stuff like that. furthermore I love the fact that ESPS students are so multicultural and multilingual. I also love the fact that you can take so many options to really identify your area of interest. About Latin America I really want to take options on Latin America and I found out that the Spanish department offers a course called"social history of latin america" which looks fascinating. and i think that the spanish language classes will include texts dealing with LA.I have a question what job would you like to do later? Personally I would like to work in an international org focusing on development or human rights (in either Latin America, the Middle East or the Pjilippines) and I think that ESPS would be a good start toward this career

History- I found there to be a huge step up from GCSE in terms of technique and independent work. If you work hard and are prepared to do extra reading which is highly reccommended you will do well at it. I'm on the Edexcel board and currently doing coursework at the moment, although at AS it is incredibley interesting especially if you cover Russia.
