Aah, I had a bit of a panic last night. I stumbled upon this article and now I'm so worried, I'm wondering whether I've made the wrong choice and should have stayed with King's, my original firm. All these formal dinners and balls just aren't my thing, and I have no 'formal' clothes whatsoever, so I'm going to have to buy some, but I literally have NO MONEY. The book list for English is 10 pages long and for the first term I worked out the books will cost me just under £100!

I just found an email from Durham in my spam folder letting me know that I'm guaranteed accommodation and will be informed of my college in due time. They also said I could reply with a college preference if I wanted - it wouldn't be guaranteed but they'd take my preferences into account. Have you had this email?

Thanks I'm glad we both got in! They told me the same thing. I hope we get into a college that we like, haha. Which colleges are you interested in?

I knew you would, I'm delighted for you! Congratulations! Ah right, that makes sense. I know, have they told anything about accommodation or colleges? They just told me that I'd be allocated to whichever college has space and that they'd send me info on accommodation in the coming weeks.

Yeah, I've changed my student finance details. You just need to log on and click where it says 'change my application' or something like that. It's pretty straightforward. Then I think they'll send us a new pack in the post with all the info on what we're entitled to.

Oh, yours sounds like a much more complicated process. I'm kind of in disbelief because I really didn't have to do much to get my place; at first I thought UCAS had made a mistake on Track. After I emailed them last night saying I wanted to be considered, that was it. I woke up this morning, checked Track, and it said this: Congratulations! Your place at Durham University (D86) to study English Literature (Q300) has been confirmed.

It's straight English Lit, which is so hard to get a place for - it's bizarre. I'm still not sure whether I actually have the place, although I emailed them asking them whether it was correct and they said yes. Now I'm panicking about accommodation and choosing a college and stuff. It all seems so unofficial.

Good luck to you, it sounds like you'll do just fine. I hope we get to go to Durham together and have in-depth discussions about Lost I LOVE THAT QUOTE. I love that scene, and I love Sawyer in the first couple of seasons, when he's 'bad'. I think I'll go celebrate my place at Durham by having a little Lost party by myself.
