  1. Hi. I am the applicant of UCL economics this year.
I have received an invitation to the open day on 1st Feb. they said they intend to recomend an offer to me.
I would like to ask you, once we go to the open day and I will get an offer ? Is it same as before??
  2. I couldn't agree with you more! It's got it's quirks but it's also absolutely dire at times. And has a chav infestation...

Country bred?!?! I guess your not one of the coastal islanders? Although I wouldn't mind smelling grass in Hyde Park, might be the only lot we see in our whole time there.

I think I may have to get a job, I've got £24 a week out of the student loan technically, it's not a lot but I can manage. My parents are helping too, there cobbling £20 a week for me. I didn't really want the help (especially as my mum is unemployed at the minute) but I can't really stop them, if it helps me out I suppose it's a good thing.

How's accomdation looking for you? and financial shizzle?
  3. Well if they do their slightly misinformed/miserable gits. And anyway you have a boyfriend so I guess it wouldn't matter too much anyway.

Good relations are likely a must! I wish I'd gone for the flats now, so bloody expensive at Ifor. I'd imagine quite a lot, at least 10 maybe? up to 30?!!?!!?!. Honestly no idea, just take it as it comes.

9 days, and those will be the 9 loongggessst days possible. Gonna be a bit of a culture shock from State School to Top 5 University
  4. Mass emigration of Islanders... bleurgh

Oh nice! That's one way of keeping in contact at Uni! Pretty lucky you're both interested in the same thing, may as well both go to the best Uni for it (and avoid sleazy men in London clubs...). I don't even know if its possible to judge someone for it?! Well, I'm not judging, and may prove your mother wrong

Ummm... yeah that's a difficult one, I'm not sure. Depends on my corridor I guess (Ifor Evans, as you know) and what those folks do. I'd imagine the mature students will want to meet up beforehand, but yeah as I said, depends on the corridor really.
  5. 5%? Sounds about the same as me haha! Sucks doesn't it? Anyone else you know going up to UCL?

Well, looks like I might have a natural immunity to it then!
  6. Depends how many people know the Isle of Wight, coming from Gosport (and my goalie being an Islander) means it's pretty standard for me, but not for someone from... France?

To be honest, I imagine a year full of embarrasment for me, as much as I'll try and avoid it.

Agree with you on the wait, it's horrible, and most of my friends have already gone so I'm stuck on the bloody PC. How much of that suggested book have you read? I'm not sure how far they want us to go?
  7. Ahh so you must be Miss Dixey! Well as your not quite as local as the others I suppose the lack of flippers is somewhat of a hindrance (I really should end the IOW abuse at some point).

Thanks for that, now I've inadvertently hit on the Social Secretary, albeit with my grammatically intact drunken typing.

Not long to go now eh? I know your a bit anxious, but surely there's a mmmasssiivee bit that's excited?
  8. Nothing wrong with a bit of heart and soul!

And why thankyou, although they're not exactly the greatest drunk posts that have ever been concieved (what the **** is a chirpse?!).
  9. Hello fellow coursemate

Just saw your post on the freshers angst thingy (hopefully, this isn't too creepy...), and honestly, I feel quite like yourself at times but you've got nothing to be tooo afraid of, other than my shovel of course.

We're like, on the most awesome course on the planet, and even if the flatmates are a bit... odd... there's us merry band of folk in the SAS, or whatever we're being held at ransom to join.

I'm the Dave making a consistenly ridiculous fool of myself on the fb group if you're wondering, not sure which fine person you are, but keep ya chin up, not too long to go now I suppose.

    Good luck!
  10. Hey, iI have a room at Ifor Evans, single room, 151 pounds, 2 meals per day included.
If youre interested we can do it straight away, as I have spoken to the office asking to change dorms and he said he would change me if I found someone willing to swap.
    let me know!
