That seems likes a perfectly reasonable reason! Besides, if in the future you decide that you do actually want to go into finance, a degree in Engineering will be able to get you in anyway sounds interesting! Did you take any physics/have you looked at any of the physics work? If not, you may benefit from doing so before you start the course, I think it will make it a little easier If you don't mind me asking, what are you doing in your gap year?
Thank yoouu! The offer is A*AA, so their typical, but they haven't specified what the A* must be in, which I'm very pleased about! I have offers from UCL, Nottingham, Leeds, and Loughborough, and I attended an interview for Cambridge but have to wait until mid-January to know whether I have an offer.
If I got all of them I would probably firm Cambridge (depending on the offer), and insure Nottingham. If I don't get Cambridge (...which I most likely won't), I think I will firm UCL and still insure Nottingham
I hate to be nosy, but do you mind me asking where else you applied, and what you got for your A-levels?

Hey, just thought I'd let you know, I got an offer from UCL today.

Proably will I take Math, Physics, and Art to A2, did AS 3D Design last year and am taking AS Further Math this year I'm at a Sixth Form College; so lots of students!!
How about you?

Hahaha exactly xD
Yes that's what we had to do I'm not sure if they'll change it for the later selection afternoons or not. I think as long as you give ideas and you listen to ideas and help to develop them, you're pretty much set. I panicked at first, because I saw that it was about eroding cliffs and I hadn't done geography in about 3 years, so I couldn't remember anything. But with the ideas from the other candidates, you slowly start getting ideas of your own, so if you don't know what it's about, don't worry
I don't think there's any prep you can do for it, so just have to wait until it rolls around! Which one did you decided to go to?
-
Hello yes I have. Have you applied there and are attending one at a later date?
I think it went really well, it was really enjoyable. Basically we were in groups of five (which were pre-decided before the interview) and had to create a solution to an environmental problem; and then present it to another group.
They say they assess you, but to be honest our assessor just upped and moved between tables.
It's really fun though, don't panic at all; you can't revise for it.
