Thanks for your help in explaining how the degrees are laid out, and I've decided that I will probably apply to the Maths and Physics degree (since it seems it is always possible to swap down as it were, whereas making the decision to swap up into more maths would be problematic). Just wondering which course to apply for, since you said you applied for Theoretical Physics but ended up taking Maths and Physics? Would it be better to apply for Natural Sciences? I assume it's quite flexible when you arrive, but I'm just finding the website slightly confusing so came here for some advice since you were so helpful before! Thanks again for any reply!!

Hi there OMGWTFBBQ! Just saw in your sig that you're doing Maths and Physics at Durham, a course which I am potentially interested in applying for next year (I'm Year 12 now).

Anyway, there doesn't seem to be too much info on the Durham website about the joint honours degree, which makes it a little difficult to compare the course with straight/theoretical physics...

It would be super helpful if you could give me a little info on what the choices are at Durham, and when you have to make the choice about your final degree title. Which course did you initially apply for? Do you miss out on much physics by doing the joint degree? Thanks so much in advance!
