I also ended up having a conversation in Spanish about a school trip I'd taken to Spain when I was 14, which threw me a bit because I wasn't expecting them to ask about the least interesting part of my personal statement, but I was anticipating having to speak Spanish - was that what you weren't expecting? I think it's standard in the MML interviews, perhaps they just forgot to tell you. Which is a bit mean, I agree!
