    One thing you should note tho, is that they will ask you about recent news related to medicine and scientific research. They'll also ask you questions outside the medical field to see if you are not boxed off from the rest of the world

    Don't know anyone else in the Medics Freshers group who got this question but I got asked how I felt about a six year old boy dying of the flu in Hong Kong which appeared in the news. So be careful, they MAY surprise you.

    There will be a total of three interviewers. The medical student present will most likely be the one to ask the questions. The interviewers are generally friendly and they would not purposely trap you with hard questions. If you ever get stuck, one of them will give you a booster.

    Sheffield interviewers like you to have something unique which makes you stand out amongst the other candidates. E.g. I talked about a program I wrote to calculate cardiovascular risk diseases in patients with various chronic conditions (diabetes etc).

    They didn't really bring up my personal statement. Their questions were more generic tbh. But I suppose part of the reason was because I spent ages going through a book of medical interview questions months ago. An example is when they asked me why I wanted to become a doctor. I stated my reason, then went on to explain the qualities I have which are important in this career and then how i used my work experience to gain a deeper insight into medicine and how it reinforced my decision to study medicine yada yada yada.

    It ended in a friendly chat about the differences between Health Authorities in Hong Kong and in the UK.
