Sadly, I dont think Shoya was surviving that one. If it had been one bike that hit him then maybe. But one in the chest and one in the stomach. Sad times.
In 2003 Kato lost control of the bike at Suzuka and went head on into a stupidly placed barrier at 130+ mph iirc. He was then led on the racing line and the stewards came over and dragged him off the track when he had serious head and chest injuries. He was in a coma for 2 weeks and then died. It was like Shoya's, except rather than it being an unavoidable accident (you cant blame anyone for Shoya's because its always a risk a rider takes) it was purely down to a stupidly placed barrier and awful stewarding. Atleast Suzuka got taken off the calendar - and rightly so.
He was another one that had so much potential. He was 250cc champion in 2001 and it was only the start of his second season in MotoGP.

I'd say it would be a fair assessment to say he would have been a World Champion at some point.
As good as Rossi? Im not sure. Rossi has tailed off in the last 2 years, but people talk of Schumacher's dominance from 2000-2004, Rossi was equally (if not more) dominant than he was. And he left to go to a crap team aswell. But in a few years I think Shoya could have been up there with Spies, Lorenzo, Stoner, Pedrosa, Simoncelli, aswell as some of the guys down in 125 and Moto2 like Marquez and Redding. Guess we'll never see how he would have done now though.
I think just about everyone knew it was a serious crash as soon as it happened. The way he was just led there unmoving was horrible. First with Kato, then Tomizawa. Two top guys gone. (Although saying that, Kato's could have easily been avoided). Dumbass Suzuka.

Such a shame, Shoya was an immense talent and a funny guy.

The Oro K18s are infamous for their bleeding problems. Great stopping power, but finicky as hell when it comes to the annual-bleeding. It sounds like it could be a duct problem, in which case a mere swapping of hoses, res-points and ensuring that you haven't got an excess of hose cable. Spongey brakes, this is unusual. You may want to open up the actual brake housing, see how it looks in there. It doesn't sound like its done for, but at the time of earliest convenience, you may wanna' swap brake hoses, maybe pads and filter through the res.
It could, on the other hand, be entirely the hose. Again, this may result in swapping them around. Arduous, indeed, but probably necessary.
Let me do some research, see if anyone else is having this problem. I'll get back to you ASAP.
