Ha, I have indeed. On the upside though, there's now one more thing we have in common - the 10-12 month placement scheme I'm applying for will lead to me being awarded an undergraduate Msci degree also. This is just getting freaky now :P

I might starting a thread in the postgrad section to ask whether any PhD students got accepted with no work experience, just to be safe.

Also, the fact that you've had the determination to learn about such a difficult topic as biomolecular science on your own shows that you are anything but a clueless kid, so don't feel the need to convince anyone otherwise.

You'll love biochem at uni btw, especially if you have the option to make your course quite chemistry orientated . I'm about to enter my third and penultimate year of Molecular and Cellular Biology at Glasgow, and it's been amazing so far.

Thanks a bunch . Do you mind if I ask whether you had any work experience when you applied for your Msci degree? (If I don't get this I will have zilch outside labs in uni, and postgrad education is essential for me; so I'm wondering how easy it is to get into masters / P.h.D programmes without experience).

You answered a question about why someone with a biology degree would have no problem moving on to a biochemistry postgrad course; that superb answer, combined with your rather biochem geek profile - I mean that as a compliment btw :P - was what made you stand out.
