Hi, how did you find unit 4?

I found the timing hard! Also found the second to last question hard about transport.

Hey It was alright in general. But I messed up the last 2 questions because I was strapped fro time so I did not even read the last question well and wrote on the completely different thing. I'm scared. How did you find it?

Yeah, that was a weird question. Because it said "assess the importance" I just compared it to other factors, such as location, wages and labour. Then my conclusion was it is important, but it's not the deciding factor. I hope I used the case-study enough, as after reading examiners' reports they mention that is the area candidates do the least well in.

My timing has always been bad for Business Economics, they should give us more time as answering nine questions with reference to an unseen case-study in 90 minutes isn't enough.

Do you have any more exams?

It was OK, I didn't like the Q4 as it asked for impact on customers and shareholders, it would have been simpler with a "effect on stakeholders" question. Oh and I misread Q7. I realised that half way through and made a plan on how I would have answered it. Edexcel are not very sympathetic, so I doubt they'll care to be honest.

Hi, sorry I haven't replied to your message before. Because I have an exam this morning I was focusing more on it than Business Economics, and I am revising in sixth form today so I won't have access to the exam.

In terms of tips, I think learning the content for evaluation questions is a good idea and if you have access to past papers look to see how you can apply the case-study into your answers. Also learning key terms is good because if you show you have understanding of the theories they will give you some knowledge marks.

But the most important thing is to finish the exam as the grade boundaries are so narrow, there are something like 16 marks between an A and an E. There are more marks on evaluation (i.e. looking on both sides and reaching a judgement) and on analysis, explaining why this could happen etc.

Anyway, good luck and I'm sorry that I couldn't do anything yesterday. Are you sitting unit 4 next Thursday?
