  1. Camembert can always do with a little more appreciation!
  2. I believe that picture in your sig is in Iran?

Looks beautiful, I've always wanted to go visit Iran if not for the religious architecture alone.
  3. How come you might not stay in halls? Yeah, I considered catered to begin with but then decided against it. I've just completed student finance as well and am getting really hyped about uni I just got your message on the manchester modern languages site about an email about hebrew? What was it about?
  4. Yeah although despite the weather today I did not manage to get any revision done >.< oh btw did you remember where you applied for accommodation? I did mine the other day and chose Richmond Park, Sheavyn and Oak House all in Fallowfield and the exact same choices as I put down last year haha
  5. 11th of June? That's really late :O My last one is the 15th of June and I have speaking exams the end of this month :| Snowed in? Wow, I'm down in Southampton so havn't seen any of it..it's just been a little cold but that hasn't really stopped me going out >.< Gonna try and get on with some revision the next couple of days though as it's rainy and miserable here now lol
  6. Maybe, I judged a bit too quickly. It is a bit ironic, considering how much Amnesty has been criticising Israel for their crimes last few months. Being pro-Pal and pro-Israeli is mutually exclusive unless you are being neutral. Here's what Desmond Tutu had to say about neutrality:

If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. If an elephant has its foot on the tail of a mouse and you say that you are neutral, the mouse will not appreciate your neutrality.

The oppressor in this case, being Israel.

Im probably not going to change your mind and you are fully entitled to your opinion

  7. Hello! How're you? I've really not been enjoying college lately so it's great to be on holidays but i'm kinda worrying a bit what with exams looming Wbu? I've kinda been concentrating more on the now atm but when I think about it I do get very excited for uni but there's still the worry that I won't make Manchester haha
  8. I'm also Conservative and pro-Israeli although I try to see both sides of the argument.
I'm a member of Amnesty International and volunteer with Barnardos.

    Oh, the irony. :facepalm2:
  9. Agh that was the same with me on results day in the summer. I missed Bs by only a few marks :/ The accommodation is great! As is the city and everything about the uni hahaha i'm so excited for september too xD
  10. Ah wow that sounds good! I'm sure we'll find some more direction whilst doing the degree! The prospect of doing a postrgrad degree in Israel is appealing too. Did you get any results yesterday from january exams? I've just got back from Bangor Uni..quite liked it and think I may actually insurance it instead of the two courses at Manchester, just in case. 100% firming for Russian and Hebrew, though I don't know of any more open days at Manchester, i'm afraid, but I first visited there in the summer time so unless you want to wait that long then I guess you could arrange something with the department? I loved the whole language centre there! It's really nicely set out and in nice buildings and there was a cafe where everyone was speaking in their languages, there was a advertising board where you could place an ad to meet up and chat with natives in whichever language and there was even a special dvd library with a section for each language - the Israeli section was surprisingly packed!
