By all means, try to 'show me the light', but I have already spent too long travelling the road of imagined self importance. I am finding atheism much more sattisfying than my former position, I feel that now I can fully appreciate the beauty and majesty of the universe and to those who search for something more, some greater meaning, I say, what more could you want.

You'r question was not hard, and neither was my answer. I will try and put it more clearly for you. I am an atheist. I have no belief in god. Prove to me there is a god, and if you want, prove Islam is the right religion (I wouldn't go there though, after two years of trying to find out if it was right, I came to the conclusion that it was the most unlikely to be, out of all the major religions (apart from Judaism)). No offence.
after skimming through some of your articles (I would have had more time but for GCSEs), I find this answer to "Still, no one has ever explained why primitive Man’s life was filled with cults, mysteries, and beliefs." can be found here (so I guess he just didn't look hard enough) and I guess you believe in some imagined self importance for humanity, I found this to be a more humbling experiance than submitting to any celestial dictator.

Haha nah, I did an A level in it so can speak it ;P My rents spoke it around me alot.

As I said I mixed up with your albumin term and thought it was bacterial DNA instead of protein, the difference with genetic engineering is that we take the gene from a living organism and transplant it to a bacteria, however in this case we created the genetic matter entirely in vitro(in a lab) without a organism to take the genes from and then inserted a complete chromosome(which if compared to a protein is far more complex) into the bacteria. DNA does not involve proteins at all, it is merely nucleotides bonded to each other by phosphate bonds and the bases are held together by hydrogen bonds, ignore any reference to proteins for now.
I wouldn't be surprised if they could make albumin back in 1970s same for insulin, I was talking about something completely different which is the synthetic making of DNA by using chemicals and a machine, the chemicals are inorganic btw.
-
Sorry I confused albumin with plasmid anyway here's a link to show we have created synthetic bacterial DNA from there it's smooth sailing, if it's talking about proteins this nobel prize winner's quote must be rather old.
Link to show synthetic bacterial dna has been created and implanted into host cell; link
Another link just to be less biased; link

but where did you get the quote from, I want to check on the date to make sure whether it's relevant.
-
That's most certainly true but I feel that we are getting close to it.(the albumen was completely created so I think his quote is a bit old).

Good luck with med school though, hope you get in!
