Are you sure it wasnt a hexagon, becuase it said it ws a regular shape? Oh and for the simultaneous equations i got 24 and 32, and i'm sure it was right becuase i checked it, and it did add up. How about the last question, what did u get it involved, surds, pythagoras and area of a non right angled triangle??

Hey.
It is a pretty competitive degree to be honest with you. It isnt too hard to get an interview but its how you find the course after that. To be honest with you, you will be at a pretty huge disadvantage if your are not studying A level maths even though there is a seperate module for people who have not studied A level maths, but your are studying maths statistics so shouldnt be too much of a big jump. I didnt do A level maths and I found it pretty hard. You could pretty easily get in, but that is not what counts. I have not got my PS anymore, sorry about that.

I only applied to UCL for that course so i can comment only related to that place. I am not sure if your gcse grades will be okay, you should better email them and ask. About maths, if you're not doing it, you may be at a disadvantage because engineering has a high propotion of maths and physics involved in it. I'll recommend you keep Chemistry, Physics and Maths for A'levels and Biology too if possible. You'll need an amazing score in them to compensate for your gcse result. UCL is pretty competitive, they only have 40 places for this particular course, so they give an interview only if they believe you are good enough. In fact what i heard they interview around 50-60 people, so most do tend to get the offer.
I have heard Bath is pretty good for the same course. What i will recommend you is to go for Chemical engineering because they take in a greater number of applicants so you have a better chance of getting in. You can later choose biochem eng in your 2nd or 3rd year.
