hey man, good luck for the pool! if there is any justice in the world, you WILL get fished. had a look at some of the other colleges' websites after i got my offer and policy varies- don't stress, loads are waiting a week or so to post offers gotta deal with the kids who still haven't heard anything...

Thanks, that's appreciated. I was going to apply to Warwick, UCL and Bristol, but cancelled those one minute before sending out the Cambridge application. The thing is (long rant following) that I was in some academic programme which included starting studying at university while still at school. Due to that, I can get my undergraduate degree in 1.5 years instead of three, and would be done with it by Jan 2012. I wouldn't really want to throw that opportunity away for a university that is not Cambridge, if you know what I mean... Not sure if that was the right decision now after being rejected. I feel that I deserved my rejection, though. There were so many subjects which I'd have loved to study, English just being one of them, and I think someone who is 100% sure about what they want to do is better off with my place.

Hi! So sorry, I've just been napping - the stress of thinking we'd get a letter and then not getting a letter and then finding out we get said letter tomorrow was too much for my frail heart! :P

It read "Thank you for your application to Christ's College. Unfortunately we have not been able to make you an offer at the College at this stage. The strong competition for places this year has resulted in many good applicants being squeezed out. However, we have sufficient confidence in your abilities and potential to recommend you to the Inter-Collegiate Winter Pool, where your file will be available for consideration by other colleges". So I'm thrashing around in the pool for now. Good luck for tomorrow I really hope you get an offer.
