Get out of here! You're pulling my leg!? Okay - first thing I'm going to do when I'm back up in Birmingham is going to get some chips! That is the most random yet brilliant thing!
I'm from North West/ West London.
-
We're way to cosmopolitan for that down here apparently! Nope - back in London for the meanwhile. It's crazy down here atm -olympics and all. So busy! Bus drivers have no chance of getting the odd thank you now!
You know what! I actually haven't thought about the whole London culture shock thing! Me and my mates tend to focus on the "omg they say thank to the bus drivers here" and totally overlook the possibility that we're probably just as weird to non-Londoners! But change is always fun right? Or at least exciting! Well... change can be **** tbf... sometimes

It's funny - I actually don't have much reaction with Brummies much! Apart from Brummies who I know who've chosen Birmingham to stay local. But actually - you're right - I'd definitely say that Brummies (and in general anyone north of the midlands) are waaaaay friendlier than you're day to day London out and about Londoner.
Hah - take care if you decide to stick with UCL - we don't say hi and thanks to the bus drivers down here :P - may get funny looks!
-
That's hilarious! History has a tendency of doing that to people for some reason! Definitely worked on me!
Oh and, totally get the hippy thing! Birmingham definitely has that crowd! The campus gets insane at times with protests in general ... a particular favourite is Libya of course - oh and who can forget the israeli/palestine conflict!
UoB is good! But with university, the whole experience is based on association - so if you're surrounded with like minded people you'll have a blast - if you're not - then not so much. I mean - I found the people at my halls to be waaaay to drama seeking, and "too high school" - but I absolutely love the people on my course - and we're all really close - so since I spent most of my time with them
Birmingham is awesome for extra-curricular stuff which is awesome, decent night scene.
(scary locals) hah
but that's coming from a londoner so...

18 - I stand corrected! Haha Yay English Lit! Well UCL is pretty impressive! What's you're offer - are you waiting for results this August?
-
English Literature ... probably to the frustration of many on TSR? Hah! Are you at university/ older? I assume older because of your join date?

Shame there's a limit to +'s that you can give in a day (and to a single user in a certain time), you're too funny
