Here's a bit about me....
After starting my career in internet marketing, I went on to become the Marketing and Operations Director of Jobsite - the UK's largest job website. It runs www.jobsite.co.uk and around 40 other niche websites.
Jobsite grew rapidly - both organically and through acquisition. There were 15 employees when I started and 150 when I finished. We were profitable every year throughout the dotcom boom and bust. We featured in the Sunday Times Profit Track for being one of the country's fastest growing private companies.
We sold a 49% stake to Manpower Inc in 2000. The Daily Mail and General Trust bought the whole company in 2004.
After Jobsite I worked as a consultant for Manpower Inc - the $16 Billion multinational HR Services company - working for their online psychometric testing business; reviewing and helping them relaunch their global websites; and as part of an HR services team working with the Shanghai Municipal Government.
In February 2006 I bought the majority stake in Acumen PI.
I live in Brighton and am married with two young children, and spend too much time doing up my victorian house. |

Acumen PI is a trading name for Acumen Professional Intelligence Ltd. We're based in North Laine, Brighton.
In 2002 our first websites were launched - all designed to help students share academic and social knowledge and experiences. In the last 5 years they've grown to become huge academic and social resources attracting millions of students every month.

We are run by 3 Directors: Pete (P), Jamie (J) and myself. Pete (P) works full time on our Coursework websites. Jamie (J) works full time on TSR as its overall Director. I work across all our sites.
Warren (RK) also works across all our sites.
All our software development and hosting is outsourced to a Canadian company - Gossamer Threads.
Our education and recruitment advertising sales are outsourced to an ad sales house who we work very closely with - Educate.
Our broader brand advertising sales are outsourced to Etype - one of the UK's leading ad sales networks.
Acumen PI is not a detective agency, but we do wear moustaches and red shorts in the office. |
