I applied to mature-only (St. Edmunds) on the basis that they would give more flexible/lenient admissions requirements to accomodate my job...

Glad to hear others have been put through this-I was worried I was being singled out. Did you hear anything about what happens to those who score 11 in STEP with an SS offer? Is it custom to let them in anyway (i.e. that means they are at least at the same standard as 90% of everyone else who got in.. and aptitude is surely the benchmark here...)?

I just saw your post on the Cambridge Maths thread.

I just applied as a mature student to Cambridge, and got an offer. I have already done A-levels Maths and Further Maths (A*A). So my offer is based on STEP II & III only. I took Step II as a practice run three years ago, and got a 3. I didnt take it seriously, and didn't even list it on my application this year.

Anyway- I just got an SS offer... pretty shocked. I have a full time job to deal with... not sure if I can handle this kind of pressure...
