Hi, I'm in Warburton Hall first floor (girl with the red hair)
-
Congrats on your scholarship! I received the same email about a week ago, but thank you for letting me know. I already made the deposit, although I'm not sure if it got through yet. Which accommodation did you give as a preference? I haven't had any emails of the senior tutor either.
-
Thank you for your message. No, I haven't received a letter from the college today (you mean by post, right? Now I'm worried). But I'm international so it may take a bit longer for the post to arrive in my case. But unfortunately I'm not at my dorm right now so I can't check my post at all. Does it say you have to reply by a certain date? Have you chosen a room type?

That's great that you're also starting at Lucy Cav! Congrats! No, it will be part of my undergrad degree.
-
Yes, I'm at Sussex now, but I'll be leaving tomorrow. It was for the International Summer School.
I'll be studying Egyptology in Cambridge. Are you at Cambridge?

No idea why your ML would be lower than mine...student finance is a mystery to me. Yep, I have to pay the college fee on top of everything. It's a bit rubbish really but on the other hand...it's Cambridge.

I am eligible for a maintenance loan of £5500 but have to pay course fees, college fees and everything myself. So, I am self-funded but I didn't have to take out any loans as I fortunately have the money. Probably not a very helpful answer for you, I'm afraid.
-
The college knows I will be self-funding. I had to provide a financial guarantee stating this and proof of funds to cover the expenses of the whole course, which meant showing them a recent bank statement.

That's incredible! You should be SO proud of yourself!
Oh, love *biiiiig hug*
The funny thing about me is that when I first began university, I was so excited! I'm sure you'll have no problem making friends I suppose being older, I'm a little worried that I won't find as many people that I can connect with, and I'm guessing you'll experience the same thing, however all you need to focus on is attending as many Freshers activities as you can and talk to as many peope as possible. Living alone and cooking for yourself etc will actually be something that you and the majority of people will be able to bond over (I remember doing a lot of takeaway nights during my first semester).
My first night was actually Lailatul Qadr, and that was probably the loneliest night... but Freshers Week started a few days later, and I ended making a LOT of friends!
