Yeah I think that's how my teacher was explaining it too It shall just take some time for me to straighten it out in my head. We're still carrying on with that topic next week so I've got a bit longer still to understand it.

We did have to do a marked essay on the empiricist approach over half term... haven't got the marks back yet

You know Hume's fork? I didn't really get in what way that was a criticism, because all it seemed to be doing was saying that the only things you can know for certain are maths/logic, and you can't know for certain from experience.. seemed to be supporting the rationalist approach My teacher said that he was just showing how logical knowledge is all tautologous, is that basically it? I still don't really see how that's a serious criticism
