    What you must remember if you apply to study Persian is that:

    1. You will almost certainly be unable to obtain a visa
    2. Even if you do, Iran is on the British Foreign Office's no-go list and any study you take there will not qualify for your degree
    3. The university will lie to do anything possible to make you study Persian.
    4. The year abroad is compulsory.
    5. When you find it is impossible to go to Iran for your year abroad, the university will not allow you to change subject
