  1. Fine block me or whatever. But St Peter says be ready always to give an answer to explain why you believe in God. If you don't that's not my fault, that's your disobedience to scripture. I'm sorry but, Jesus said you'll know them by their fruits. Your fruit is not following scripture, all Christians sin, but Christians realise their failures and repent. Sadly, I see no such thing here. Remember what Paul said, show hospitality to everyone, in doing so some have shown hospitality to angels. I'm no angel but, in the future.
  2. Actually

1 Peter 3 verse 15 says - "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear"

So it is actually biblical to explain why you believe, which would also mean why you believe. Now, if you're a Christian, you'll accept my words and say, oh, I didn't know I will repent. But, if you're a liberal who doesn't hold the Bible as the authority over their life you'll discard this statement and then judge me for quoting scripture. I'm doing this out of love, I do not fully understand what a liberal Christian is, but if it's what I think it is, I'm not going to be lukewarm. So, based on scripture, could you please explain what a liberal Christian is?
  3. Well, it's not really too hard to define what a Christian is, it means little-Christ. We are little versions of Jesus Christ who aim to do what He did, who hold His beliefs, who emulate Him here on Earth. A Christian is only someone who has been born-again the Spirit of God and is constantly following Jesus' word. Jesus said you will truly be my disciple if you continue following His commandments.

So, when you say that there is no such thing as Heaven or Hell, you can't claim to still be a Christian because that's not what Jesus said. I'm not saying that's what you believe, it's just an example of people like Rob Bell. My question really is, do you believe that the Bible is the infallible, inerrant word of God which you live by and try your upmost to follow?
  4. So, you call yourself a "liberal Christian". What does that really mean?

Does it mean, you take some of what the Bible says to be true, but not the other bits which don't really agree with your philosophy?

Or, are you a "Christian" who doesn't like to talk about Hell because you feel that it may offend people?

Or, are you a "liberal Christian" who thinks the Bible is just a guide to life?

Or, are you a "liberal Christian" who thinks Jesus is the way, but for you, and if someone thinks Buddha is the way for them, it's okay because "truth is relative"?

Or are you a liberal Christian who just says they're a Christian because they prayed a prayer once in their life and the preacher said, "if you prayed that prayer, you're born-again because God said whoever opens the door, Jesus will enter."

Or are you a liberal Christian just because you believe God exists, which is enough for you to be called a Christian?

This isn't an attack, it may seem like it:bricks:, but I'm genuinely interested in why you call yourself a liberal Christian and what it means to you.
  5. Hi, Where do you live? I can recommend some churchs if you live in London.
  6. I hope you will follow up on my post on your 'liberal Christian" thread: I do recommend the SCM.

And I'm really sorry you had such a bad time at that church.
