The less popular subjects (i.e. Physics, Engineering, Chemistry) tend to give out offers quicker. Unfortunately I reckon with English Lit you'll be waiting a while, but I wish you the best.

Thank you! I am really excited about Imperial. It is my 1st choice so I wasn't too worried about Cambridge... plus on the the three occasions I have travelled to Cambridge, bad things happened :O

I don't actually do A-levels (I do Scottish Advanced Highers) hence why none of my offers include A*s. For A-level applicants, IIRC, Imperial is A*A*A for Maths, A*AA for Physical Sciences/Engineering and AAA for Life Sciences.

So which unis have you applied to again?

There's a lot of nice peole on here but you have to remember there's also a lot of wishful students who want to believe that their excellent A-level performance and place at a top uni is going to set them up for life. The Oxbridge obsession on this place is worrying, but you'll get used to it. On the whole the site is nice and I hope you stick around... but yeah be careful :O ISA isn't that bad, a lot of the stuff she says is actually really intelligent and mature.

I'm really pleased with the outcome of my UCAS... yeah I've got my 5 replies:
1) Imperial- Offer AAA- FIRM
2) Cambridge- Rejected
3) Manchester- Offer AAA- Declined
4) UCL- Offer AAB- INSURANCE
5) Bath- AA- Declined

Obviously I only have the power of hearsay, but KCL is on the whole a decent uni, and is particularly strong for things like History and Law. You want to study English Lit right? Yeah IIRC King's is pretty darn good for English Lit.

Don't worry too much about the opinions of TSR folk, a lot of people here have this attitude of Oxbridge/LSE or bust.
