Just came back from Awards evening.
Our school has kindly decided to give us our GCSE certificates (sarcasm)
It was totally crap >< like come on! waste of time. but was happy to see people ^_^
tell me about it! its a vicious cycle. stress for exams stress after stress for and after.
when will it all end?!
I'm going in late to get my results Tuesday and Thursday are sleep in days. ^_^
what is CT like?
oh well its no biggie anyway
chem was good for time and maths just bio ><
oh you do AQA chem as well, hmm i thot i recognised your username
It was ok just stupid mistakes. like not putting the .0 when they asked for 3sf
and the calculations at the end that volume was it or summit, n just other bits n bobs
lost about 7-9 marks. oh and i missed the nitrogen question (i always hav to miss one in an exam!)
poor u- geography is just terrorising for my friend. the grade boundaries are ridiculously low due to it being so difficult! and next year in A2 40markers?!!
No actually I don't- I'm not an Arab. I learnt the language.
It was 2hrs and 45 minutes for 1 paper. OMG i counted the tiles on the ceiling. never went to the lessons for it (stupidly enough) and did not understand the last 46 mark essay question! so i just blagged it my vocab was limited. GCSE arabic was ridiculously easy compared to it. ended up with 55/100 just 5 off a C so i'm resitting next summer as i'd like to up the grade.
yeah you're right its just the history really and the religious texts, looking at the meaning of the Qur'an and doing essays. i've look at the pass papers and it looks doable.

Hehe its nice being a pessimist when it comes to results though- that feeling when you see that grade far greater than you expected.
i will do for sure although that will have to be in the evening as i will not have any internet access. i shall drop you a visitor message. lol we're talking like it's tomorrow!
no i highly doubt it!
same i came out feeling rather confident-ish as well thinking defos an A even if its a low one. Frustrated me plus i was pretty bad at the timing- didn't get an oppurtunity to re-check!
I know what you mean. that's the thing it's not even just about the A its the number of UMS marks, the higher the better.
I do AQA maths an chem n obvs EDEXCEL bio.
I did Arabic in year 10, General studies, Bio, Chem, Maths, thinking of doing AS Islam next year
Basically AQA took the mickey this year maths n chem. its like just test our knowledge instead of makin up riddles.
nah hopefully it shudn't be that bad.
Orthoptics at Sheffield ^_^ excitables
only offered as a degree in Liverpool or Sheffield n there's 40 places in each competition isn't as fierce as med scul but about 600 applied for the 40 last year in sheffield. liverpool have lower grade requirements BCC.
I've already started my personal statement lol :P
where you hoping to apply?
-
It's best to overestimate then under though
i done that during a mock chem exam thought i got 64% but got 82! hopefully it works in your favour
i know right in all my mocks for bio I've not lost over 10 marks n then i come out of this exam thinking ****e possibly 20 marks down the drain!
i messed up on that too LOL :P
i have a horrible feeling i will be 1/2 ums marks off an A which urgh is the crappiest thing ever ><
I'm getting C1 and chem 1
again chemistry i think i lost about 7-9 marks so another possible low A/high B depending on grade boundaries.
C1 was so bloody easy. me n my crappy arithmetic skills made me eff up in so many places but hopefully still got an A there.
i really wanted 3A's- ideal world
but now its like A A/B A/B
anyway what you looking at doing in uni?
-
thank you v.much
found it in the end
i think i got between 62-65
so it has given me a bit of confidence
im so glad about the catalase mussels thing cuz i just wrote about controlling variables and measuring vol of oxygen produced whereas my teacher went on about calculating sum stuff n making a graph...?
felt a bit dumb about falling victim to missing the 3 marker draw graph question ><

History, English Literature, Politics and the myyyystery subject! I want to study History at uni.
-
What A Levels are you doing and what do you want to do at uni?
-
History, Politics and English Literature. I'm just put off Biology because I want to avoid Chemistry and Maths at all costs!! Is the course easy if you're not particularly sciency?
-
I'm considering Economics or French instead. Stress of my life deciding! Imma positive rep you

I'm finding GCSE Biology really interesting for the most parts. I find plant biology pretty tedious occasionally, but I find genetics majorly fascinating. I'm doing pretty well at Biology. It doesn't come to me naturally, but I reckon I'll get a good result. I'd only be doing Biology for AS because I prefer essay-based subjects. I hate Chemistry, will the biochemistry bit be a massive nuisance?
