Hey there, just looked at your conversation with someone regarding Computer Science and thought I'd ask you something:

I've currently applied to Southampton and Kings respectively to do Computer Science (top 2 choices) and was wondering which would be better to go to? I'd prefer to live in London but if Soton is that much better I would go there.

Also, what's the best university for CS? If I exceed AAA on results day I will take a gap-year and re-apply to better unis.

Sorry, when I said 'not good enough', I mean't I'm not good enough.

Soton research is great. It was second in the UK in the RAE, definitely says something, and the man who invented the www is at southampton. That's a pretty big thing.

I think I pretty much made up my own mind (soton), too bad I already firmed Warwick (discrete maths) and Bristol (maths with comp sci). I am going to take a gap year anyway and ask on results day for deferal for 2013. Do you think it is worth rejecting all my offers and then reapplying to soton?

which university for computer science do you think has the best facilities? I'm looking for a uni that has the best research + facilities, rulling out cambridge/imperial (not good enough).

I was thinking southampton? I also hear on here that the lecturers really go out of their way to help you out.

Are you studying at York?

1. Actually there are Islamic mortgages which people take out, plus some scholars differ on opinion about the interests when living in the west.
2. I dont care, i'm not getting into debt, in the current system im £700+
3. Trust me for me it is because i got a concentration issue :/............. i'll enjoy CE like ECON, just not sure about the circuit mboard bits, i suck at soldering and also ce can still get me into IB

1. The loan thing is deceiving, in reality they take MUCH more money over the long term
2. If you pay it off early they put in a fine
3. You can't say that at all, there's Muslims who claim to drink, etc doesn't mean its ok for other Muslims to.
4. As i said its a year wasted in my view and i'll be doing retakes anyway, might try a transfer in 2nd year if i cant transfer in 1st year
