  4. hi i have you applied to a European medical school if yes which one and how thanks Adeel
  5. GP training is 1.6 applicants per post- applying to multiple jobs is the norm and most people secure training. It's not the same as hospital medicine with horrific competition ratios.
  6. alaaa abdisamad????
  7. who is this?
  8. I was looking for temp work and they were not interested in someone who would be leaving Manchester a few months later... Sorry I'm no help!
  9. hey,

erm I went to my GP and he gave me a number for someone in the HR dept of the hospital. I rang her up and she sent me an application pack. filled it all in and sent it off (mind you, this was in october/november). Got a reply around january inviting me for an interview. interview itself was in the middle of feb, and it was about the easiest interview I've had really. not much of an interview just a conversation between you and two ward matrons. they ask you stuff about the nature of the job (whether you're willing to get your hands dirty), and how you would respond to certain situations. honestly, i cant express in words just how friendly the atmosphere was. i was so nervous beforehand and you will probably be as well. just remember to smile and talk normally; just be yourself. there aren't any trick questions, they just want to get an idea of the type of person you are and whether you'd fit in working with them. I heard back later on the same day and got the actual letter 2 weeks later through the post. as for the job itself, I havent actually started yet. the offer letter comes with some conditions like a CRB check and vaccination history as well as a questionnaire to fill in all of which i'm in the process of completing.

i should also mention that in my particular case, the job is a Bank HCA job meaning its not full time and i'm sort-of on-call if they need me to cover a shift.

hope this helped and best of luck with your application!
  10. If you're looking for work and don't have experience and therefore not managing to get a job (this is based on some comments on people's walls I've seen), here are some suggestions:
Start doing voluntary work at a local charity shop.
Go to your library and get a book about the 9 steps of retail (I read one by Ron Martin called Retail Selling Made Easy).

Get an interview book (I'm reading one called something like The Best Interview Book).

Then after you've read one think of answers to the following questions:

When have you gone above and beyond for a customer?
When have you behaved badly in-front of a customer and how did you improve your behavior for future experiences?
    What is your biggest weakness?
Where do you see yourself in 2/5/10 years time?

    So on so forth.
