Hi d4nny, you probs forgotten who I am, but anyway, thanks for your help last year!!! I was awarded the arkwright scholarship with your help!!!

well the rehearsal period was residential and we rehearsed 19 hours a day. But yeah once we got back there were of course after show parties and I had college at the same time! It was brilliant but soooooooo tiring haha!
-
Ahh yes that will hopefully go up then since english is pretty subjective Good luck with it! Do you know when you get the remark result back?
I was part of the acting side (mostly singing actually), the show was the caucasian chalk circle

Oh cool, what subject was it for???
It was part of my county's youth theatre I'm so tired though - I've been getting 3 - 4 hours sleep a night for 3 weeks. I need SLEEEEP!
-
well done, that's brilliant! sorry it took so long to reply, I've been doing a show for 2 weeks and only just got home
-
No history Those are very good subjects mate, if you can pull off good grades (which you obviously can then you should definitely be able to cruise to a top uni. Ahhh I miss RGS
-
Well done mate!! That's excellent stuff! Double the A* I got What you doing for A-Level? Let me guess Maths, Further Maths, Further Additional Maths, Hyper Maths... :-p
-
"Uniform Mark Scale" (I think) it just scales marks so that all exams in one subject total up to 1/2/3 hundred etc so it's easier to mark. I'm not really sure on all of the reasons. But you don't necessarily have to get full marks to get 100 UMS, it's really odd. Your raw percentage mark will likely be lower than your UMS score.

I'm going to drop the B subject (english) and one of the Cs (critical thinking) and keep the other, which is maths and I have extenuating circumstances for two of the modules (the one I don't have extenuating circumstances for I got an A in). I love maths and I know I can get an A in it! So yeah my predicted grades will be A*AAB. Unless I manage to persuade my maths teacher to predict me an A, but they use a generic system where you get predicted your AS grade unless you were 5 UMS away from the next grade boundary (which I was, hence the B prediction - I was actually 1 away which was annoying..)
Yeah you can't get an A* at AS, to get an A* you have to get an A overall and 90+ UMS on your A2 units. I got that on my AS modules so fingers crossed they'll predict me A* for drama! Woo!
Good luck for thursday!

You should definitely write about it, especially the work experience!
I dunno, the week before my GCSE results I hardly left the house I was so nervous! Which was a really bad idea because I had more time to think about it, so this year I just kept myself really busy so the time went quicker haha! Though when I was loading up the computer to see I nearly died... Yeah I got AAABC which I'm pretty happy with since it means I can apply to london uni's and I'll be predicted A*AA let me know how you get on!
