What are you hating on me for clown?

I think everyone's given up on Dundee :P Congrats on the offers!! No matter how stupid, it's crazy impressive to get an offer from Edinburgh, you must be good! Yeah, I think the placement year in Bath has a lot going for it, but other than that the open day was pritty much apauling, so I wouldn't worry too much about it. Hahah you guys sound like a fun couple - v. multicultural I don't understand why it's so easy to fall in love with Scotland.. It's just like home to me but a little bigger :P Unless I really dislike St A then I think I'm going to firm it, with Glasgow as insurance - I'd be happy either way though.

To be honest, that sounds like a really good plan! So is your boyfriend already at Glasgow? That's increadibly handy if so. Yeah, I got into St Andrews (I think I'm the lowest grades they've given an offer to though :P) I know what you mean though, I have a feeling I'm really going to get into running or going to the gym at uni just to get some peace for a while.

Glad to help Apparently the most popular placement for MSci at Glasgow is a place in Finland, if that's of any interest to you. Though it's increadibly competative, so you have to get good grades in Yr 2 (someone said about 250 applied for 50 places last year). Yeah, it's hard not to get carried away.
This isn't Glasgow specific but the impression I got was that people who live together tend to be closer, regardless of course.. though I think that if you're a social person you'll be fine where ever you go. As it's part of the city I it might be different though, plus the unions are fantastic (GU just won best in UK). I didn't think private accommodation was cheaper than halls though? Glasgow is quite expensive for that kind of thing. I assumed that self-catered standard halls was the best option really (at least that's what I intend to go for). Cheapest is Cairncross, though there's not much of a difference form Student Appartments and they look waaay nicer. Impression I got was that the ensuits seemed to be quieter and the cheaper ones have a lot of parties going on, like all the time

Tbh I found Bath to be the superior course for employment, but I really disliked the campus and the place - it all just felt really cliquy and unfriendly. Aberdeen was quite the contrast, really enthusiastic lecturers, the current students were all in love with their course and all of Scottish money seems to be pouring into that city at the mo, including the uni (so great facilities!). GLASGOW IS AMAAAAAAZING! Its definitely front runner so far for me! It's just so integrated with city life and there is literally something for everyone. The sports facilities are really cheap (~£50 p.a. for use of gym, pool, classes, everything!). The faculty member I spoke to was really felt supportive and in love with what she taught. If I were you I'd look into doing a MSci at Glasgow because the placements are brilliant. All their tutors are involved in impressive research and put a heavy emphasis on practical work (also one of the only unis to still do wet-labs which is great). As part of the Russel Group Unis they get reasonable funding for new lab equipment ect.. Everyone I spoke to was so happy to be there and the department was really organised and the bioscience building was really well kept (with awesome labs). Seriously, I know I'm going on a bit here but it really was fantastic! Definitely where I would prefer to live and study... even if I do an honours at St A, I'd probably move to glasgow for further education If you think of anything you'd like to know don't hesitate, but I thought it really was everything it makes out to be.

Heya, how're the applications going since we last spoke? I just thought I'd let you know that I've been to the Bath open day, and just did the Aberdeen one too. I asked about a million questions and I'll be visiting Glasgow next week so if you have anything you'd like to know/ask about any of them, just let me know!

Thanks Yeah it definitely is! I wonder how much different it will be to a large course like Biology, Bath only take 20 people apparently. But I suppose the lectures will cater for many courses Dundee don't reply until Feb or something, but I bet you'll hear from Aberdeen soonish!
