    did the solution bank work?
The thread got taken off, so i couldn't ask there.
  3. I see its good your researching early i'll be starting this September doing Mechanical Eng

Make sure you study hard! Its worth it in the end, i wish i had studied a lot harder in my first year but oh well we learn from mistakes and im trying to correct them now
  4. It's the same you won't be discriminated if you have an MSc rather than MEng. The only difference is MEng is an undergraduate degree and a MSc is a proper postgraduate degree so has more credits. Sometimes tho the MEng is better in the sense that you would have done business modules as well whereas in Msc you'll study more specific content but if you did a BEng before(which also has business modules in the 3rd year) won't make a difference really

Once you apply for CEng you have to wait for the relevant engineering board(ie IMechE,JBM,IET,RAeS etc) to accept your application and they will notify you whether you can be a CEng or not.

Are you applying for university this year?
  5. CEng is worth it if you really want to be a top engineer in your relevant field.

One can get chartered status by either doing:

    1) BEng + MSc + Years experience = CEng (you don't just become a CEng you have to apply for that status)

    2) MEng + Years experience (again you have to apply for it)

    3) Bsc + Msc + Years experience (however this route is rare as most "proper" engineering degrees are now either BEng or MEng)

Also because you are chartered this means ur job roles will be managerial type jobs meaning your salary will be higher plus obviously you will be well respected as getting one means you really are a "good" proffesional engineer. However this is all good if u want to work in industry as an engineer if you just want to go into banking or something totally irrelevant to engineering then theres no point getting chartered and also they wouldnt be much point of doing the MEng either.

    Hope this helped! Merci :pierre:
  6. That's fine Just aim for 100% in anything, then it doesn't matter as much if you miss it.
  7. 'Hi there guys

I am about to go to sixth form next year and I want of study economics at LSE or UCL.
I want to know what kind offer in terms of grades would I get if I obtained these grades at AS:

    Maths-A
    Economics-A
    History-B
    Chemistry-A/B

Or would I not get an offer with these grades from LSE or UCL
    Thanks'
Probably not, isn't it rather early to commit yourself to only getting a B. Also that thread is titled 'offer thread no discussion' !
AAAB or better. You need at least 6A*s at GCSE for UCL and LSE
