Just wondered how things are?
What are you doing now, and is it ok?
I'm hanging on, still determined to reapply to Oxford....but life getting in the way!

Hi, i'm also a mature student (32) going to Exeter. What kind of accommodation are you looking at? I dont think i can handle halls!! How about you??

Hi Elle408 hope things are going well with u coursewise.Well done on your offers, now u just need to work hard to gain the actual grades you need, which i have no doubt u will ^_^ I just wish staffordshire who i am waiting to hear from decide one way or the other ie whether to give me a interview or not lol

Wow, my cheeks went red when I read what you said haha! I haven't heard such a great compliment, thank you very much! I've spent so much time looking into this law malarky and how I can get the job I want, I just hope I put it across the right way in my PS. It's a shame it's taking so long, but then again no news is good news.
I really can't wait for when either York or Queen Mary give me an offer, as soon as I have just one I'll be in a state of euphoria for at least 7 days, I think lol.
At least you can now get on with your access work at rest while you know you'll be going to a great law school. It's that sense of security. I just can't wait.

I'm so jealous Elle. It must be a real relief to have the whole UCAS thing over and done with! Now you can just concentrate, without any worry, on your work for your Access diploma. Good luck, you'll meet that Exeter offer easily!

Exeter, as I say, is really great. The only reason I hadn't applied is because their requirement for my course is high at 70%, the same as all the top London Uni's + Oxbridge.
On the UCAS front from me, I've nothing more since my revised offer from Lancaster. Which, I am happy about because now I have a reasonable insurance choice. I just hope QM and York get back to me.
My course is essay based, pretty much coursework as I see it. We're given on average 2-3 weeks to answer an essay question in varying sizes. The biggest thus far was 1,500 words. My next is 1,000 words. I have a 2,000 word essay soon. It's all very manageable. Especially since compared to answer course we spend little time doing the course. I have only one 3 hour lesson per week. With a saturday school (of about 5 hours) every other month.
A riot, haha. I can understand disappointment with a tutor when almost everyone has failed. I experienced this a few years ago when I did A levels. In a business exam no student, even those predicted to get A's, got above an E. But, meh, it's in the past. One thing I am happy about so far is I''ve been able to prove to myself and others that I can write a decent essay. I got C, D and E at A level. Terrible grades. Grades that I don't think I deserve. Which is why I've been worried about getting offers, and is originally why I believed Lancaster has increased their offer.
Yep, only a few months! I'm hoping it'll go quite fast, as it has done for me already. Insanely jealous of that offer Elle! I'm still waiting on three universities! It's taking for-bloody-ever.

Bloody well done on the Exeter offer! Exeter really is a great law school. In your situation, I would have no trouble in rejecting Lancaster and going to Exeter! It's a well established traditional university. Checkout their law society, the Bracton Law Society. Four out of the five magic circle firms sponsor the society. Many well established barristers have attended Exeter. You're now miles ahead of me on this UCAS stuff. I'm pretty darn jealous of you now, Elle. How's the course going? I've finished my first of four modules, with a.....drum roll.........more suspense...... distinction! Very pleased indeed. All I care for now is to get that distinction at the end of the course and to secure an offer from York. I've heard nothing yet, not even an interview invite. And I'm growing evermore frustrated and impatient with them.

Some things subjectwise on my Access course are a lot harder than other Elle408 especially some parts of Science. But maybe i only finding it differcult as i always tend to do too much work for myself than doing less maybe.

HI Elle408 its their loss,if they cant see you are a outstanding applicant then others will. You really deserve a place as you work so hard, like admbeatmaker says dont let it get you down and things will work out ^_^
