I was reading your thread about the NPLQ and I was wondering if you could answer a couple questions for me please.
1. did you have to do a precourse test?
2. were you allowed to wear goggles?
3. how did you manage to surfcae dive to the bottom of the pool ?

No, it's the bit where I said (not word for word):
"women will usually get more stick for doing 'manly' things then men doing 'womanly' things. Of course if it's a man wearing a dress then because there's the added emobidment factor, he'll recieve more stick, but that's because it's more extreme."

And then she said something like:
"actually I think you'll find the man wearing a dress would take more stick then the women doing 'manly' things".

And after I told her to re-read that post she said: "I only need to read it once"...

To be honest with you, the point where she practically quoted my counter argument, and posted it as if I hadn't, I stopped reading her posts.

You're arguing against someone who looks like they've internalised some of the patriachy, I don't think you'll be able to pursuade her of anything, but good luck.

Well my mum actually works in the department, and knew they needed people, so she just put me in contact with the superintendent for ultrasound, and she sorted it all out for me - I just filled in a generic form and got told to turn up to work! Sorry I can't be more helpful - perhaps try emailing and seeing if you can get in contact with any of the senior staff members for the specific area you want to work in (CT, ultrasound, XRay etc.). heyy..I read your post on medicine entry and so on..i'm in kinda the same position as you.. I feel just the same what ur feeling and i'm just so worried about what will happen.. If we retake and take everything up to A's i'm sure we might get offers..we cn just hope

Hey, you'll definitely get an interview - cambridge interview about 90% of applicants in most colleges. Less than 90% average in relevant subjects will put you at a below average position, but just do amazing in the BMAT (especially section 1 and 2) and interview and you'll be fine i'm sure!
Maybe don't apply to St John's or some of the bigger colleges as they can shorlist pre interview if you've got under 93% average in your 3 most relevant AS subjects ( or all 4 if they are all relevant).

I created a thread to highlight the abuse women suffer on the street - do you SERIOUSLY think I believe someone dressed scantily deserves to be abused?? I merely made the point because there was nothing to draw attention to me; the guy on the bike was just doing it for the hell of it. I was just another person on the street. The point is that EVERY woman is vulnerable to this. And I have nothing against feminism, but as it is a concept and a movement I will either highlight the word with apostrophes or capitalise it (ie. Feminism). I'm not a particularly vocal advocate but I'm certainly not against it.

I think you need to calm down and think first. And if you feel that strongy about Feminism, lord only knows why you felt the need to neg a post trying to spread the word that street harassment is not OK.
