  1. I know, it's amazing, I feel totally relieved, blissed and lucky and happy and not at all pleased with myself in a vain way, just really happy to have made it and confused about why me?

Ohh, you play Baroque music and some instruments, that's so great. I have just been listening to some lovely Haydn really loud, it kind of fitted the mood! Do you comb YT a lot for samples and pieces? It's great to check out all these amazing performances....
  2. I did 2 A's last year and then 3 more this year, but maybe I just got lucky, I don't know for sure - the letter doesn't say anything further about it. I am still spinning really, I'm amazed to be Uncond. but perhaps there are good reasons which I shall discover!!

God hundreds of societies! I mean everything! Lol. I am trying to narrow down - obviously History Soc and maybe something to do with skiing/snowboarding, both of which I love and if there's something that's about mountain sports generally.

Music is huge at Exeter and I can sing, so maybe the choir will be something I am interested in - I love classical, particularly Early Music. What instruments do you play? Is music big at Oriel?
  3. Awww lol my Mum cried to and she was so full of it she shouted to my Dad on her other phone that I was in!! I couldn't get a word in! That's so great about our Mums. And yes, I am in at Exeter, I was lucky enough to get an unconditional offer and am so so looking forward to it now, I can't wait.

The Harry Potter soc sounds so fun, it would be great to be in that, you should join when you get there, which I am totally certain you will!!
  4. It's sooo great that you have your offer now! Congratulations!!
  5. Ohhh, I'm a nervous wreck really, just can't wait to get it all out of the way now so I at least know one way or the other. I am trying to act cool and chatty as a cover. And also eating!

Poor you having the exam as well, that's so painful.

Sleep sleep if you can!! :hugs:
  6. Are you keeping everything crossed? Good luck!
  7. Lol at your interview story, that's so funny! I had similarly klutzy interview skills but you probably had a harder one, I always think science is so much worse than humanities as you have to be so precise.

That sounds great as a holiday/adventure, I would love to do that. I know someone who has been right up to the North of Norway and he said it was all fab, it sounds like it's really strange and exotic and fascinating in the icy North. I would love to see the Northern Lights. Although personally I prefer warmth. And yes, I know I'm lucky in lots of ways, it's a great privilege to be able to travel to interesting places and have good experiences. I just came back from a spa holiday in Goa with Mother, which was really wonderful.

Do you think (if you get in - furious touching of wood) you will join one of the travel socs at Oxford? I think they have adventure groups and things don't they?
  8. What was your mistake? I literally spluttered at one point in mine, haha! They also asked me if I thought Alexander the Great was over-rated and in my mind I could think of all kinds of useful things to say, but would they come out at that precise moment! I did manage a few choice phrases though.

Yeah, Rome is a real box-ticker, I mean it has beautiful old squares that are hidden away where you can sit in a quiet little cafe all evening watching the stars wheel overhead and the noise of the fountain and Rome is only a distant hum. Or you can walk through millions of people at the Vatican or the Colosseum. It's really got everything for a wonderful city break! I am very lucky because a school friend's family have a place there, so I have stayed fairly often.

Yes, I've travelled with my family and on my own quite a lot, my parents love travelling and we have been to lots of nice places. I suppose my favourites are Rome, the Maldives, Australia and St Kitts in the Caribbean, but there are lots more I like too.

Do you go to a Sixth Form college or a school?
  9. Oh, Oriel sounds great, I'm trying for Exeter and History and ditto they were fab at the interview, I actually enjoyed it!

Ohh, Rome is lovely and really not that expensive to get to really, I have lots of happy memories there. Also I totally recommend Italy generally, it's so nice for holidays and exploring, food, culture, history, the whole deal.
  10. Hello. I'm sure you will get to loads of interesting places. Good luck! Which college have you applied to?
