I wouldn't worry about not hearing back after a week, things can move very slowly at this time of year because the administrative services are processing so many details. I would give it until the end of this week and if you still have not heard anything then drop them an email asking them to confirm that they have received your information.
As for housing, you should receive the details of accomodation regardless of your offer status, also please be reassured that international undergraduates do have a priority when it comes to housing.

If you've made that university your firm, then you should check on UCAS Track to see if your place has become unconditional. A message should show up on the front page of Track saying congratulations. Once that's been sorted, your university should send you a CAS number, which you can use to apply for a visa, if you've told them that you'll be needing one. If you haven't told your university yet, you need to do that ASAP. I didn't need a visa, because I have British citizenship, but I think advice for applying for a visa and such can be found on the UK Border Agency website.
