obviously I can't vouch for Kings, but that should put your mind at ease somewhat! In terms of general college appeal though, both Pembroke and Kings are nice colleges, however Pembroke's distinctly less touristy than Kings, whilst still being really central . Personally I also think it has a bit more of a 'homely' feel, however that's just my opinion! I'm really recommend Pembroke - it's an awesome college which I've had a great time at - if you have any more specific questions, feel free to ask!
