  1. I was seriously advise picking a UK based company. Mainly because I think claims like "Also read that it will be allowed to not pay tax for its first 10 years" probably aren't true! Good luck.
  2. If I remember rightly the only things they asked me were what do I do to in terms of 'wider reading' so I just talked about reading the FT, Accountancy Age and various other newspapers/news channels and then I was asked about a recent article I found interesting. I prepared for the second part of the question as I was expecting something similar but I hadnt really for the first part.
Regarding the first part I dont know whats good to say and what isnt, obviously for the second part do read something and maybe write some notes about the article so you can talk about it, I went for the recent audit reform in the EU and was asked what I thought about it and how it might affect those involved (specifically PwC).
  3. Congrats on getting so far. I think you should go with smaller companies which you can fully understand their issues. The partner will probably throw a few curve balls and it'll be easier if the company is smaller. RIM is a KPMG client of Reading office.

It was okay, I think I messed up in a couple questions. I answered the why KPMG question pretty well i think but he followed it up with 'What research have you done' and I just mentioned the competitors and a couple clients.. not a good answer he hardly wrote anything down for that one. A couple others were like that.
Could you say that the more stuff he writes down, the better it is?
  5. They sent me a 'sorry for the delay' email after 2 days (I think). I then chased it up on the third day, as my interviewer said I would hear within 3 days, then they told me I had been successful.

    How did it go?

So they asked the same competencies that they mentioned in the email? Because they mentioned some in the Get Ahead session as well.
  7. In the email that they send you confirming your interview, they should mention 5 competencies that you will be tested on. Just prepare one academic, and one non-academic example for each, and you should be fine!
Just remember, the most important part of an interview is building rapport, if the interviewer doesn't think you'd fit in to a team well, then they won't choose you!
  8. Hey mate,

I had a first round interview, which I passed, in mid December. I withdrew from it though before my partner interview (which I believe was meant to be some time this week), as I accepted an offer from Deloitte
  9. Nope. Graduate programme. Feel free to send me some questions though.
