maybe you should stop stereotyping on the basis of sexuality. I'm not gay, but there is no such thing as a "homosexual look" so it was a stupid comment.
-
that sort of comment has connotations of homophobia
-
why did you use homosexuality as a derogatory insult then?

I feel like I would absolutely fail at London! So many people around combined with being in a foreign country would overwhelm me. And I barely know how to work the bus system in Canada..

I so know what you mean. The majority of my class goes to the local community college an hour away, whether they are a C student or an A+, simply because they don't want to "branch out". A select few attend UofC or UofA, but they're a minority.
I'm equally impressed by you! It's so refreshing to find someone who shares my same opinions on these issues!

France is on my list! Along with the rest of the UK and Ireland, of course, Italy, Greece, Austria ect. I also want to visit my family in the "old country" haha, which would be Denmark and Norway. I'm so excited; I feel like living in a small town has made me sheltered but studying abroad is going to provide so many opportunities to expand my horizons!

The hour away from London and train ride to France sounds fantastic :p That's one reason I want to go to UCL. However, I'm from a town of 1200 people so I'm sure London will overwhelm me! Durham seems a bit underwhelming, but York is beautiful and the perfect size. I get my city experience without feeling completely lost and the university just seems to have a nice vibe. Kent looks absolutely beautiful! Definitely going on my "to visit list". Even though York is pretty far north, there's trains and my British sister-in-law tells me inter-europe plane flights are very cheap! I'm hoping to experience Europe as a whole as much as possible! My only worry is that I won't be able to find people to accompany me, so if you're ever looking for a travel buddy I would be more than willing. TSR is becoming a fantastic tool to meet fellow international students.
