  1. lol....I haven't even applied for admission in oxford.....have plans to apply for 2013 entry. wot about you?

  3. A levels are 2 year courses.

The first year you take half of the exams and you get a stand alone qualification called an AS level (Advanced subsidiary level).

Most people apply to university having done these exams. However, if you are lucky enough to get an offer, that offer will be conditional upon you getting certain grades in the second half of the course (A2).

    AS + A2 = The whole A level
  4. uwahh di UGM ngapain aja? kalo gak salah sih dengan hasil SMA lu tetep bisa daftar ke oxford deh. tp kalo udah graduate dr UGM keknya percuma kan mulai kuliah lg, atau rencana mau masters?

bagus ga sih UGM? temen2 gua yg msk ke universitas local bykan masuk ITB ato UNTAR. gua sih clueless bgt sama universitas2 indonesia
  5. Haha Don't worry - you don't really need GCSEs and you'll notice I got a B in 1 subject :P

Oxford aren't looking for perfect grades, otherwise they'd just take the top 20% of scores...they want enthusiastic people with ability that exams don't always show.

I think the best thing would be for you to do your AS levels and apply for 2013 entry. Oxford will certainly still consider you.

Well, have you studied French and Italian to a high level before?

If yes, then probably French, Italian and the other 2 should be subjects that you enjoy...no point taking English literature if you hate it!
  6. Well A levels normally take 2 years...so if you haven't started at all then surely 2012 entry is a bit early? I'd imagine that 2013 entry would be more suitable, seeing as most applicants for 2012 already have their AS grades.

Most people take 4 AS subjects and then in the final year drop down to 3 A2 subjects.
For languages at Oxford I'd recommend doing the languages you wish to study (obviously) plus at least another essay based subject like History or English Literature because the languages course at Oxford is very literature heavy - you need to show ability in analysing texts critically.

Also note that there's a language test that you have to sit before getting an interview. I'm not sure how you would organise this for Indonesia, you'd have to ask Oxford themselves.
  7. iyaaaa aku orng jakarta belom kuliah sih, msih di college! haha tumben bgt, disini jarang ada orng indo. salam kenal yah~
  8. Hey...

    Which country are you from?

Oxford has a list of foreign qualifications that it accepts so if your country's qualifications is on there then you won't need to do A levels.

There is no age limit, but seeing as you are 21 if you do get an offer, you will count as a 'mature student' - http://www.ox.ac.uk/admissions/under...nts/index.html
