Hi! My name is Lucía and I'm starting my MSc in UCL in September. I was skimming through the conversations and saw that you lived in James Lighthill House. I just got an offer there and I would really like your opinion on the place. Any suggestions or comments? I was wondering about the no overnight guests rule. Is it really enforced? I am really grateful for your insights!

Hey there, sorry, I don't log into TSR much nowadays so it has taken me some time to respond. It's been 5 years since I last stayed a JLH so the management have probably changed some of the rules. I used to have people round whenever I wanted and no one would mind. Sometimes we would be cautioned if we were making to much noise, but at least when I was there, there was no enforcement of such a rule.

hey there. Do not pay any attention to that rule. I regularly had visitors till 1 or 2 in the morning and it wasn't a problem.
my flat had a few parties (thing big speakers) too with permission.
Friends stayed for a few days at a time.
It's only security who are around after 4pm and unless you're making a really terrible racket and residents complain then you'll be fine.
