Hi, just wanted to thank you for your help before my interviews last month, and I got an offer!! I also just wanted to ask you a couple of questions about Homerton if you don't mind. Does being a bit further away from the town center make socializing/going out more difficult? Do people still mix with the other colleges as much, or does is it quite insular because of it's location? sorry for the essay i'm just curious. Thanks again

Eeeeeeeeee that sounds so so awesome, I can't wait to start!!! (providing I meet my offer )

Thank you so much Lydiixx! are you a student there? If you were, I was wondering if I could ask you some questions about life in Homerton? what subject do you take?? xx
-
Awesome, what kind of things are you studying at the moment? Good to hear

Hey, thanks! I've applied for post A level French and German but I do Italian atm as well which I don't want to forget I've been fished out of the pool by Gonville & Caius

Hey, i've got an interview at Homerton for MML in a few weeks! just wondered if you could give me any advice? Two of my interviewers are Dr Oliver Tonneau and Dr Axel Bangert- do you know them? If so, any insight into what they're like? Thankyou! and well done on getting in!

Hi
May I ask if you have an idea of how your friend with ABBD at AS got into Cam?
Was it 21 A*s as GCSE? Did s/he smash the interview? Personal statement? I'm asking as my school is pressuring me to apply to Oxbridge but I'm too pessimistic.
Thank you.

Have you given up on me already then?

Omg I totally need your help then! I saw you on the 2012 page
Here's a post by me http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/show...6#post39486396 and then 3 more on that thread, where I'm basically panicking about my subject choice!
I noticed you had to get an A* in German, which I'm worried about too as SO few people get it, and it's normally native speakers who do (I think they did that to punish you for doing sciences, well, to make sure you weren't just a science geek, which is so harsh)
Could you have a look through my stalking entry and that thread and send me a PM with some advice (consolation!)? Thanks!

aw your so lucky!! good luck with uni xx

- Interests
- Kafka makes me smile! However, I feel a little cheeky reading some of his works when he specifically asked for them to be destroyed in his will! xD
Durrenmatt's plays make me laugh- especially his obvious and melodramatic use of black humour
^ and apart from these two spectacular authors, I do enjoy reading the odd German novel/play/short story now and then!
I love translating italian short stories. It's an easy way to pick up the odd phrase/word/aspect of grammar!
I also like to keep up my french and spanish from GCSE by stalking foreigners on MSN and facebook ^^. I would love to learn Dutch (as it's so similar to German) and Portugese.
Here is where my 'scienciness' crosses over. Linguistics fascinates me and I am particularly intrigued by the idea that the language one speaks affects the one way thinks and subsequently sees the world.
I am also a keen scientist and mathematician outside the world of linguistics and thoroughly enjoy the odd challenge in the chemistry olympiad and the random occasional science book.
My room reflects my personality. Books, books, books scattered all over the floor and revision posters everyone. I do feel somewhat proud though to be associated with this 'geeky' stereotype. I try my best at college.
Oh and if I ever got into Cambridge, I think I would collapse on the floor and melt into a million pieces because it's the only thing I've ever wanted since I knew what university was.
