  1. No problem can you PM me your email and I'll send them to you.
  2. Hey there Haha thank you!
I actually don't have any notes on them unfortunately. I didn't make any last year aha, the way I revised was just by doing essays which teachers marked and just by doing plans for different answers. So I didn't make any notes on any of my texts in the end aha. Regarding websites, google sparknotes, gradesaver and shmoop. Those are the three I used and are brilliant!

  6. Merry Christmas, 4 days late. Sorry for not replying faster. I can't think of them all now but here are a few. The characters in the book are symbols, for example if looked at from a morality tale perspective than we can consider the boy and father to be everyboy and everyman. This is an idea that the boy represent everyboy and the father everyman so if they do wrong we have done wrong. They are us. This is reinforced by the narrative voice third person omniscient which is typical of fables.

The brook trout at the end of the novel are described as 'muscular' which creates the idea that they strong, this could be symbolise the strength of nature. No matter what we do to the earth, nature has the strength to survive. This is reiterated through the use of colour, the trouts are 'amber' it is about the first time we get colours other than black and grey in the novel.

The food in the novel is also symbolic of wealth, the father tucks into the 'rich sweet pears', in comparison when they go the supermarket in the early part of the novel there are coins all over the floor they have no value in the new world. This symbolises the breaking down of order and capitalism.

The fire is obviously a metaphor for hope, the boy carries the fire and cannot be killed by the father as he cannot take the last shred of hope from a desolate earth.

If you need anything else just ask.

    Happy New Year!
