  1. I messaged you back a few days ago. Check your inbox.
  2. nahhh it'd be better if they were the proverbial chalk 'n' cheese to be honest pal, so you could use each speech to evaluate specific theories that it doesn't fit in with.

i.e. 'Lakoff asserts that women use more emphatic stress than men, which fits in with [speech no.1] but not [speech no.2]' then explain why not yada yada yada...

    good hunting!
  3. yeah, i've already finished mine this year.
you could use rhetoric as a framework in itself - there are loaaaaads of persuasive devices that you could use to compare two texts.

if you were going to roll with news reports, i'd suggest using both a female and a male newsreader so you could include some material on genderlects and such like. but yeah, you could make that work, for sure!

no problemo. haha. buddy, i have no idea - i find this site hard enough to navigate as it is :') but thankyou. anytime!
  4. well you've found the right guy!

honestly, you've picked a very niche subject and marks are allocated for including relevant theories and case studies. you could do a nice project on speeches made by presidents/prime-ministers through the ages.

something like this would work excellently:

i did my project on language and power/gender. power would certainly be relevant to something like this. i suppose if you were to contrast Clinton with say, Thatcher then you could also look at gender.

let me know what you think of the idea!
  5. Sorry, I don't do any English at all at A-Level!
  6. Sorry to disappoint you, but I've not got a clue about the English Language AS course, I just do English Lit! Sorry to not be more useful, sure you'll do fine!
