That's true. The transition is huge. I was hoping ucl accommodation would give me one less thing to worry about, but it seems that that won't be the case, since I still haven't heard back about early accommodation. I don't think the leaving home part has hit me yet. I'm just too excited about going to UCL! I'm sure I'll just start balling when the plane takes off. O! I don;t think I listed the Ontario Literacy Test. I didn't even remember writing it until you mentioned it. It was such a dumb test. Private message me your facebook name.

June 4th is pretty late. I would never have the guts to do that. I'm glad you found good private accommodation. but wouldn't it be super expensive if its close to the school? I sent them an email to clarify if I actually had to write it. Only KCL asked me to write it. They said yes - not sure why. So I wrote it. Longest test ever, but I did get a good score.

Why are you staying in private accommodation? Are you one of the many people who applied for accommodation late, or is it for other reasons? In the end did KCL ask you to write the TOEFL?

My French teacher loved the Quebec.
Are you coming to London for first time? I might be a bit busy but if you need any help like getting to London from the airport, or you moving around London, let me know.
I am from Spain and I was also quite scared of London the first time.
Are you doing a summer course at UCL? I study Japanese at Birkbeck which is a few minutes walk from UCL.

No. ha:P But I think Canada must be a nice place. Thinking of coming to the UK?

Hey there. I go to Ryerson. What about you? Any word from your choices yet?

Hello fellow Canadian!
To answer your question: I DONT KNOW! I found it kind of absurd that I was asked to write the TOEFL even though I'm a native English speaker born in Canada. I emailed them back to confirm that it wasn't a mistake and got a vague reply that I should score 7.0, when the TOEFL is out of 120.... So, I'm not sure what to think. My friend recently got an offer to KCL too but he was not asked to write the TOEFL. So I'm wondering the same thing you are. I hope you'll have better luck.
Did you apply to KCL?

Hey! No worries about the questions
Since I'm actually only staying for one more night, I think I'm going to book a night at the Cambridge Youth Hostel for my second night. My flight's pretty early in the morning anyways (9:30 a.m. or so) so taking into account the 2 hour train ride from Cambridge to the airport, I don't mind staying an extra night in a youth hostel.
Since you're travelling alone, I'd definitely suggest that you look into youth hostels in London and/or Cambridge if you're staying extra nights. Have you stayed in one before? They may seem intimidating, but they're not really that bad! Otherwise, you could totally book a hotel or something. Check http://www.expedia.ca for hotels and stuff like that

you're welcome I'm going alone too, but I guess it's slightly easier for me because I was just in London and Oxford this past summer
I really wish I could stay around a bit longer, but I didn't want to miss too much school. I'm going to only miss 3 days now
& yes, I'm from the GTA as well (not Toronto specifically, but a suburb )

I applied for MML - French and ab initio German; hbu?
& which airport are you flying to? I'm flying to Gatwick, but regardless of whether you're going to Gatwick or Heathrow, I'd highly recommend taking the train (http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/) You can take the tube from the airport to King's Cross, and from there take a direct train to Cambridge
which college did you apply for? & how many days are you staying in Cam for?
