Yay! Brilliant choice haha, Durham is definitely one of the best in the UK, if we had an Ivy League it would easily be part of it (why do you think it's full of Oxbridge rejects?!), can't say I'm surprised it's got a good law school, it's history department is the best in the country! Plus you'll enjoy it a lot more than Nottingham
Sorry for late response, been in Madrid for a couple of days! Also, did something happen with DYKWIA on that thread because I've come back and I can't get onto it?

History and Spanish, so I need three As in my A levels
Oh, yeah, Castle is lovely, I didn't apply there though because so many people do for undergrads and I preferred St Chad's (didn't realise it's the college with the second highest number of applicants after Castle!); that's where I'll be, it's about two minutes from Castle, right opposite the Cathedral.
I liked the campus at Nottingham and a lot of people from my school go there, but for me Durham was just the best of everything. I really like the collegiate system in universities, the sportiness of the uni was great for me, the location is absolutely beautiful, the History course was better for me (though that's not really helpful for you!). I also like that, whereas the Nottingham campus is slightly removed from the main city, in Durham you are right in the city. Also there's the fact that you can have the best of both worlds at Durham; Nottingham is a big city, whereas although Durham is a city, it is not massive, yet Newcastle is only ten minutes away in the train if you want somewhere a bit bigger to go out etc. You should pick Durham!!

And Nottingham is my freaking back-up - jheez, what a small world!
-
No freaking way, what a tiny world - Durham's where I'm going next year, if I get the grades of course! What college would you be at, or do postgrads not live in colleges?
-
Durham university, as in Durham, England?

"Fake subjects" hahahaha!
And really? The same classes? o_o I can't imagine why law students and medical students would be grouped up together in the same classes? I know that most if not all of my lectures would be happening at the QMC but hmm ... maybe some of the ethics classes? I know that the medical course is pretty much all pre-determined with very few SSC (electives I think you call them in the US) but hmm.
And I just finished applying for accommodation myself! I think you can get flats for couples too and there are special halls reserved just for graduate students too. They have an accommodation guide up on their website - you should probably hurry up because they'll probably be taken up pretty quick, especially now that they're just about done with handing out offers.
Have you ever been to Nottingham? I went there myself last month for a few days for my interview - probably a bit bleh compared to NY lol but the campus is so gorgeous!!!

Hahaha ya, I'm a real science geek, but I'm still really into like the humanities - mainly just languages and literature though.
And ah wow, that sounds really interesting. One of my friends is going to do Law at Nottingham too, but I don't think it's the same course you applied to because she's doing the UG course.
And ya, it's done at the QMC which is right across University Park.
I'm trying to sort out accommodation now and I can't decide what to get aah!
-
Medicine! Maybe we'll bump into each other over there heh? Good luck!!!
-
Funny coincidence, just saw that you're going to go to Nottingham! I'm going to be starting a course there this fall too haha. Go figure!!

Hey, does law at senior status mean postgraduate level? (masters/phd?) the law school at nottingham is very well respected within the uk as far as im aware, its run jointly with nottingham trent and has a better reputation for postgraduate courses than undergraduate.
nottingham university as a whole is one of the best known in the uk, its also one of the biggest and is usually targeted by graduate recruiters, have you heard of a company called KMPG? theyre a tax/accountancy/advisory company working worldwide and have a very close relationship with the uni offering work experience etc to people.
university park and jubilee campus, the two main ones your likely to use are both lovely, big lakes and big open green spaces in them all, it is a bit hilly though, with the city, ignore the bad press you hear, its about 20 years out of date from one incident, the media grabbed it and inflated it massively, the city is lovely, very historic and quite pretty, the city centre is very compact and the night life is good enough for anyone really, the students that i know are great people down to earth and really cool there are a couple of rich c*ocks but you get that at every good uni, everyone can make friends here though, so many societies to choose from, im only in canoe club because im really active in it and if i let it socialising with them and coaching for them and doing whitewater will take up 5 nights a week, i cant reccomend the uni enough
