  1. Apparently your inbox is too full for me to reply. Clearly you're a messageophile too!
  2. That's pretty much as the same as me, I read up about the Reformation over last summer and I absolutely loved it! Yes, you're right about the essays I just wanted to let you know that I got an email response from one of the History admissions tutors and he said there would be a final departmental visit day for the subject on the 24th April and it should apparently come up on your You@York portal. I am still annoyed that we've been told so late - makes tickets so expensive going up! But hopefully we'll be able to make the last visit day Hope this helps in some way, and that you're well!
  3. Oh right. Thing is I think I'd just find a university that campusy and in-the-north-y weird. I don't know though, because it's got a great reputation for history. Aaah the dilemma. I am really looking forward to going to do history anywhere though, tbh. The other day someone was asking me about my interests etc. and I realised that my only 'hobby' is in fact history.
  4. Haha don't worry, I always go on about history and no one ever wants to listen to me. Oh right, yeah I'm on a gap year too and I was thinking about York, I got an offer there, but I'm still not sure! Aaah the decisions.
  5. Ooh, me too, definitely doing a language, either continuing with Spanish or going for something funky like German or Greek The medieval options look awesome to me too, especially after being restricted to only modern topics during A Level. So glad that degree level History looks completely different to A Level! Thank you for the link, I have just asked to join. I don't use FB much but it'd be nice to know some faces before going. Ooh right, where are you interning? Are you enjoying it?
  6. Hi! I missed it too But that sounds great, like you were saying it's more about getting the feel of the place seeing as I love the course already! Thank you for getting an answer, I've been emailing and calling to no avail, haha. Fingers crossed you get the time off to go, and maybe see you there
  7. Haha it totally wasn't the tv show that started my interest in the period or anything...I've never actually done any medieval history though but I hope to at university. And the only history of christianity I did was history of the english reformation (obviously) and I once watched some documentary by Diarmaid Macculloch, which was interesting but I also remember spending a lot of time being annoyed at the way he spoke too. But yeah I'm planning to go to Edinburgh possibly or maybe Trinity Dublin if I get in. How about you?
  8. Hmm well I have a slight obsession with the Tudors. I was considering getting a giant carboard cut out of Henry VIII the other day but I decided that £50 for that was probably a bit excessive. How about yourself?
  9. I don't know if I can. Once you start on tsr...you can't leave :afraid:
  10. seeing your posts everywhere

you're becoming a serious tsr addict aw :naughty:

    About me
If you're at all interested, my avatar is a picture of Anna Komnene, daughter of a Byzantine Emperor and author of 'The Alexiad', a biography of her Father. One of the most important works of early History that we still possess and probably the earliest work we still have by a female historian.

Why yes I am a tad obsessive about History.
    Academic Info
I'm a Gap Year student who is almost certainly off to York to study straight History this autumn.
