  1. ty for rep
  2. In actual fact, my LSE offer was easier than my Cambridge one and I was confident I'd meet it. (But, that's because my Cambridge offer was harder than the standard offer). Thanks for the good luck wishes.
  3. I have two friends at UCL Law. It is great from what I hear. Talk to me if you're in the position to choose between LSE and UCL (although I'm sure Oxford will make this a non-issue). I chose LSE over UCL as my insurance last year because I love LSE. That being said, I actually think that the facilities and quality of life are better at UCL. The Jeremy Bentham building, the beautiful law library inside the main library and the atmosphere is great. (although because the group is so tight-knit there is a fair amount of gossip between the lawyers. This is not unlike the college system though ) There are some traditionally illustrious professors at UCL and they have a few QC's on their roster.

Collections don't count towards your grade. They are a good indicator of how well you've learned the material so far. Your DoS, when giving references, will probably also decide if he thinks you're intelligent or an idiot partly from them and partly from supervision reports. If you do badly in them then your college might be on your neck prior to the exams. Other than that, I'm not sure, I guess I'll find out when I sit them!
  4. Excellent news! Congratulations, I'm very, very happy for you. If your LNAT and essay was good enough for UCL (especially since this is probably their first round of offers) then it is good enough for anyone. As I'm sure you know, it a wonderful place and bodes well. Where else did you apply?

You won't really stop thinking about interviews. I couldn't. Although I was working myself to expect a rejection however I couldn't shake that some parts felt good. I'm crossing my fingers for good news for you, although with a UCL offer in the bag the stakes are less high.

The holidays are long. I was done with term on November 30th and I don't have to be back for collection exams till January 15th. I'm visiting some places in the Middle East this break so I'm trying to get some work in before I leave!

Well my DoS has been around for almost 50 years and has accepted everyone from John Cleese to Graham Virgo. I don't think arrogance would have endeared the guy to him.
  5. I'm doing alright, thanks. I've been having (too much) fun since term ended and I could unwind a bit. However, there are many law books on my desk awaiting my attention. I've tried to do a bit daily but I really need to hunker down.

Congrats on Bristol! See, I told you, if you're confident of getting the grades it sometimes pays to be ballsy and only apply to competitive places that you actually want to attend. That offer coupled with the Oxford interview means that, in all likelihood, your LNAT was solid, well done!

That's probably a good attitude to have on the interview, although I'm sure it went fine. Very few people are confident after their interview. Even fewer are right about their own assessment of the interview. (there was a senior status Harvard guy at my interview who was confident that he breezed the interview because the applicants are generally school-leavers. He didn't get in...)
  6. Haven't heard from you in a while. How have your applications progressed? From the post I see below, it looks like they are off to a good start.
  7. Hi congrats on your Bristol offer
Was wondering (if you don't mind) what your AS grades were and your A2 predictions?
  8. Ah Wadham is such a friendly college! Good choice
  9. Ahhh!!!

    Congratulations! Which college?
  10. Thanks for the rep, I'm guessing it was you anyway lol. Good luck with your application
