  1. Hi,

I see you won the Kingsbury Scholarship last year! Well done! That's amazing! I was wondering if you know how many people apply on average a year? Really hoping i get it this year!
  2. Hi, it's not too bad, studying for exams starting on the 28th now and it's really stressful. Maths is pretty much 1 level up from Further Maths, but if you did that you'll have no problem. If you only did Maths it's quite a big step up so I'd suggest learning some during the holidays. Check out "Engineering Mathematics" by K.A. Stroud, it's on our reading list and is a nice bridge between A Levels and this course.

    Good luck
  3. hello

    thanks

    Hey,
My interviewer was amazing so my interview went really well. I think that the most important thing is to show a genuine interest and passion for engineering. My "technical" question wasn't too challenging. I got "How does a plane stay up?" and he guided me through it a lot in terms of what he wanted me to say. Turned out he wanted to talk about pressure acting on the wing. Obviously it will be different for civil but I hope you get the idea.

It'll will help a lot if there's something in your personal statement you can talk about in your interview. For example, I went on a trip to CERN which inspired me to look into engineering. Any engineering-related extra curricular you can talk about would be great. Even if they don't ask you about it directly, it'd be something good to steer the conversation towards if you have the chance.

Unfortunately we didn't have any written parts of the test last year so I don't know anything about the written test. I believe Oxford have released some materials about their interviews (possibly tests) to help prepare candidates so having a google for some of that could be useful.
  6. Hey Cate, i've applyed for civil engineering at imperial and have my interview next week, as they're both engineering interviews I wondered if you could tell me what your interview was like last year? I've been told i've got to do a written test as well if you know anything of that, any help would be much appreciated, thanks!
