  2. you know how we both decided on Beaverbank but were unsure? we've both put first choices as Chalmers Street! just realised by the firmers 2012 page! did you get the grades for your offer by the way? I know it's been a while, this just really excited me! the whole thing excites me! :P
  3. thank you haha you spend too much time on here!
  4. kfc, what was that thread we were looking at ages ago with bham law people on it where i found that girl who is from vienna???
  5. Ha, yeah, my Schools weren't a lot like Enid Blyton but we did have a lot of fun at times. There was a lot of hard work too, but we went on great trips together and a lot of fun sleepovers and parties and stuff.

I did Law, English, Politics, Maths, History and Economics at A. They liked to push us. You?

That's great that you got past the "poor" GCSE line - a lot of people get told that's terminal when it isn't at all, it's all about how hard you are prepared to work, your commitment and focus.

I know, if you make it here we will probably see each other!

  6. Oh, glad you're finding studying fun, I really sweated my A Levs, got there in the end though!

Yeah, went to fee-paying schools - I was a day-boarder at the local girl's private school near where my family live in Cheshire. I also went to a really nice private Sixth near York, which was lovely.

Did you enjoy your Open Day at Edinburgh, what did you get up to?

  7. Oh, that's great, I really hope you make it - concentrate on those languages and all the other A level studies you are doing!

Edinburgh is fab, it's a beautiful city to live in and the Uni is really good. My studies are interesting and quite hard, but I find the course constantly stimulating. I have a good time with friends here, we enjoy the social life and at weekends we get away to the wonderful countryside in Scotland or to other places.

What sort of school do you go to?

    Zara
  8. Have you settled on Edinburgh, have you had an offer? I hope you come. Don't be put off by any of us "posh" kids, there are people from different social backgrounds at every university, it's part of the fun of it to mix and hear about other people's experiences. What course are you hoping to do?

  9. Ahh sorry about the long reply D: Bath is really nice - I stayed overnight for an open day last month and it's gorgeous - the city seems a bit pretentious though which I don't think is as obvious in Warwick or Edin...
Have many in your school got into Russell groups and stuff? I know what you mean - it does feel like they're genuinely interested! ) 23rd!!! Mine's the 30th...o_o
you with AQA - doing the environnment, immigration, social/contemporary issues? If so, I'm taking quite a big risk and only revising 2 of the stim card topics in depth and hopefully it'll pay off! We've not studied the last topic yet :O it saves stress, well until exam day!
  10. Aha, they are very different - but so is Essex and Edinburgh (I can't offer any advice on that one, I'm afraid ). Hm yeah, I didn't think so much of Coventry, but I've heard both Warwick and Leamington are nice - I also have Bath to think of too! D: decisions, decisions...
and Edinburgh are so nice and generous with offers! The only thing is, they don't do any scholarships for language students, but the bursaries are good! =D they must turn down lots of people then, it makes you feel so much better at that! contextual factors must play a part, I mean I'm at an academy that doesn't admit all that many uni applications and my parents didn't go uni, so I assume that's got something to do with it...but surely they lower it if they want you there too, it's very weird!
do you have your speaking exams coming up soon?
