Hi
yeah, I think the people who wanted some of the more obscure departments got allocated earlier (glad you got ONS i am assuming its only waiting on preappointment checks). I got allocated a department yesterday, but have a feeling i could be waiting a while for proper confirmation, the email said that the checks could take up to three months because they're more advanced (HO here I come )
do you want to try and avoid london altogether with your placements then? It might be possible to be honest, especially on the statistician front (I believe the ONS must be a quite large consumer of statisticians if you get what I mean there... obviously would be a bit weird if they were eating you...)

Hey
Congratulations on getting through, I hope you get somewhere that you wanted to be placed as well.
I really wish I had found out so that I could either cancel my remaining assesment centres or at least know that I didn't need to get the jobs, because I already had one! I have a feeling it probably won't be good news for me which is pretty bad because other than the interview I thought it went ok.
Anyways good luck and everything (especially if you have exams at the moment!)

Hey,
At the moment I am doing nothing to prepare (I know thats not too good!) I'm just a bit snowed under with revision and I'm looking at the fact that they want economists right now (last year there was a 75% pass rate for female economists at FSAC so I'm hoping I get through). I'm doing some work on the competencies because i think as long as you know how to answer questions on them and demonstrate them that is the key point.
I have a feeling the FSAC will be a bit busier than your SAC. At my EAC there were about 28 of us and I think they have the capacity for a lot more as some people extra joined us for the written exercise, but i guess because the group work is small groups then they can't have too many of us.
8 am is an early start. I went in from home for my EAC (I'm only about 40 mins outside London) but that was to get there at 8.30 and it was still a very early start to get there in time. By the time i got to my interview at 2pm I was forgetting important words such as pensions. I've booked a hotel in Victoria for the FSAC so I can have a bit more of alie in and hopefully be at my peak for a bit longer.
How were the timings at your SAC? they were really bad at the EAC there was never time for a hot drink and my shortest break was my lunch (Only 10 minutes!) I hope there will be a bit mroe time between exercises at the FSAC
Anyway I guess I'll see you there!
