  1. What do you mean?
  2. cheers for the reply, that's a pretty cool thing to do, just set it up then let the money roll in haha - any particular business areas you're into, or just anything which makes a profit??
i'm already learning to drive - passed my theory!! - hopefully will take my practical at the end of the summer... learning to drive in a clio (cos my instructor crashed his fiesta )
as you can tell, i lurve BMWs, aand to be fair, practically ANY decent NEW car - i detest old cars, don't understand this classic car thing (sorry )
    - seeing as you're pretty well informed of this kind of thing... do you know why BMW don't sell 4 wheel drive versions of their saloons in the UK?? eg 335xd etc, cos i believe they're available everywhere else
  3. Ah i see, and no i guess my message was kind of misleading... i'm way too young to be driving a car like that! haha, i haven't even taken my driving test yet but i am a bit of a car fanatic you might be able to tell
your 'about me' sounds amazing! so you balance a degree, a job in investment banking, and running several businesses, all at the same time?? that's ridiculous  it sounds amazing now, but i'm guessing it wasn't easy getting there?
  4. hey, i saw you talking on the thread about the Bmw 1 series M, and you came out with a few interesting facts and figures about the 35i engine. . . plus looking at your current cars (great choices btw ) do you do any work with BMW or something? Or is it just an interest? sorry to be so curious.... thanks
  5. Sali Herr,

    Stefan

    Hi,

I read your post on the "What are your Youth unemployment concerns?" thread and it was of some interest to me.

You mentioned that you have recruited in the past for your company and I was just interested if you could give me some perspective on things which would make a young graduate (I've not graduated yet) stand out? I would be very grateful for any help.

    Thanks
  7. Hi, Thank you for the quick reply.

For my LL.B, I have studied equity in second year which had quantitative elements in the Remedies topic. In third year, I will be studying Company Law which has a topic on Corporate Finance (Share Capital
    and Capital Maintenance).

I am willing to brush up on my quantitative skills, and will try my best to take A-Level Maths if I can.

I am leaning more towards stockbroking tbh than investment banks. However, the problem there is that there is so little info on vacancies they have and what they actually want to see in a candidate.
  8. Hi Herr, I was informed by a friend on here that you are experienced in investment banking/trading and can offer advice on careers.

I'm going into 3rd year at Newcastle University studying Law (not a target uni as far as i know). I'd just like to know how I can get into a trading role from where I am now, which is not a great position tbh. Apart from starting up some affiliate marketing sites and having a mini pupillage, my work experience and contacts aren't great.

My grades aren't really up to scratch yet either for IB standards unless I get a first in my final year coming up:

    GCSEs (Maths : B) 3A*s , 3A's , 4B's
A-Level ABBBB (Inc General Studies, not inc. Maths)
Law at a Russell Group Uni: First year undergraduate: 3rd, 3rd, 2.1, 2.1 (2.2 overall)
    Second year undergraduate: 1st, 2.1, 2.1, 2.1 (2.1 overall)
Third year undergraduate: Results pending (Aiming for a first)

So yeah, I am willing to work my arse off to get into a trainee role, however, I want a sense of direction on what I should do. I am considering both IB and trying to get into a private stockbroker's firm as a trainee stockbroker.

But i get the feeling that in this current economic climate I am screwed perhaps.
  9. Hi herr,

I was wondering if there is anyway I could send you a pm?

    Thanks.
  10. Erm just a general idea of what you do and what made you go into that market? Thanks
