yes my days are long but at least once I have done 37.5hrs I get some time off : )
My line manager has not been in since I started. I have been put to work with different nurses by the sister on each shift. I am unsure who my mentor actually is.
Yes my body aches back wrists feet ect I think we are on similar wards as I have a lot of old patients as its orthopaedics and trauma.
As for e learning it has not been mentioned but have five days training coming up soon.
I am enjoying the job but sometimes it's hard getting help from staff as its so busy. I think I may be doing NVQ level 2 in a few months time.
How was nights how are they different to days? Also when did you start doing nights?
Gosh you must be knackered!
Job is going ok thanks a lot more physical than I could imagine but gradually getting used to it. I had a stressful day on my second shift as I had a nurse that did not relies quite how new I was. It's ok now but does get stressful at times. I am learning lots though which is good. You were right about having to pick things up quickly though!!!
Thanks for all your advice it has helped me.
I will be doing my mandatory training in two weeks time yay!
so how we're nights?
My shifts are 12.5 hrs and start at 715 finish at 745.
P : )
How's your job going?
I have only a week till go until I start!!!
I am getting nervous now!
Hope things are good your end?
Still waiting to start! LoL
I have got my CRB cert back just waiting for start date!
How's things your end? Still on nights?
I was just wondering how your getting on and did you report the rude nurse to your senior?
I am starting my job soon on a Trauma & Otho ward soon as a new HCA hopefully I will have a induction.
You sound like your doing well considering you have had to put up with hardly any training and unhelpful nurses.
Is good the other nurse and HCA were good to you though.
it would be good to hear how things are going.
